The Ash river is South Africa’s cleanest constant flowing river in the pristine surroundings of the Golden Gate area en route from the Katze Dam in Lesotho.
Definitely the best white water rafting SA has to offer with grade 3 and 4 rapids, the reason we run the river in big 6 man rafts. A qualified guide in the raft does the steering of the raft.

You’ll enjoy a delicious meal and drinks on the banks of the river on the full day trip.

9h00               We will meet at Graceland Lodge, which is 15km out of Clarens on the road to Bethlehem. We will then transport you into the Conservancy where we will give you a safety briefing to prepare you for the day’s action and then start our trip.
12h30          Delicious lunch and drinks on the banks of the river
 We finish between 15:15 and 16:00 and take you back to your vehicles. 

WE SUPPLY:

• Life jackets, helmets, splash jackets, rafts and equipment.
• Dry container to keep cameras in or anything you want to keep dry.
• Internal transport.
• Highly qualified and professional guides.
• Lunch and drinks for the river.

YOU BRING / WEAR:

• You wear: clothes you can get wet in – t-shirt / board shorts, etc. Ladies it is always a good idea to wear a swimsuit under your clothing. Please be dressed already when we pick you up as there are no facilities next to the river. 
• Dry clothes – leave it in your vehicle.
• A towel – bring it along to the river, will use it after the trip for the drive back to your vehicle
• Suntan lotion
• Camera (optional)
• Straps for your sunglasses or prescription glasses.
• Takkies / wet suit booties / Strops / No slip-ons
• Your own wetsuit (optional). If you have one, bring it along, it comes in handy when it is a chilly day.
• your own energy drinks i.e. Powerade/ Energade etc (optional). We provide Coke and fruit juice on the river. 
• Medicine you might need, I e asthma pump, allergy medicine etc. – we provide a dry barrel to put it in.
• Leave valuables i.e. jewellery, expensive sunglasses etc which may get lost on the river, at home or in your vehicle. Unfortunately we can not take responsibility for it.
• Handbags – ladies please lock your handbags in your vehicle, don’t bring it along to the river.  

!! IMPORTANT!!
Alcohol:

No alcohol or any other drugs to be consumed before or during the trip. This is an extreme activity and should you arrive under the influence, the trip will be cancelled and you will not receive a refund. No alcohol or drugs allowed on the river.

Children:

Please note: The minimum age is 12 years, unless otherwise arranged. The Trip Leader River Guide’s decision on who to allow on the river is final. All children will portage the two biggest rapids, “Fishpond” and “Big Surprise”.  Children doing the full day section will also portage the waterfall and shute.  There is a quieter section of the river with smaller rapids where younger children can join their parents in the raft for about 1, 5 hours’ rafting. Safety is still our first priority and children are a big responsibility. We also offer a day-care service for children of our rafting clients.

Cost for the full day trip (19km stretch): (09:00 – 15:15 and onwards)
R630 per person – lunch and drinks included.
Surcharge of R15 per person for special meal requirements i.e Halaal,
Vegetarian etc.

Cost for the half-day trip (11km stretch): (09:00 – 12:30)
R460, 00 per person, light refreshments included. Lunch can be provided on request.

We offer group discounts, family discounts and discounts for groups rafting Monday to Thursday.

Payment:

*           A 50% deposit confirms your booking.
*           Balance payable 7 days prior to the trip.

Cancellation policy:

*           No show on day of trip – no refund.
*           0 – 7 days prior to date of trip – no refund
*           8 - 14 days prior to date of trip – 50% of deposit refunded
*           15 or more days – 10% cancellation fee charge

Late arrivals

If you don’t show – no refund.
Please allow enough time if you are traveling from far.  
Our trip starts at 09:00, unless otherwise arranged and if you arrive late,
you inconvenience the other clients who were on time.
Should you be more than 20min late and we don’t have enough guides  
to run a separate trip for you, your trip will be cancelled, you can either reschedule or you will loose your deposit – no refund.

Should you arrive late and we have to run a separate trip for you, you will be held responsible for extra costs incurred in running your separate trip, I e extra guide/s, extra drivers to be used.
This will be payable before the start of the trip.
