Day 1- Friday

We meet at Kam’bati campsite, situated on the banks of the Breede River, 20 km before Swellendam from 18h00. Dinner will be served at 20h00, but will be kept warm for those who join us later. We meet our fellow paddlers and friendly guides and overnight in tents in the tranquil atmosphere of the Breede river valley.

Day 2- Saturday

After a healthy breakfast, we make our way up stream and launch at Drew’s bridge for a day of fun on the Breede. ‘Kam’ c 4 urself

Here, where the Riviersonderend and Breede Rivers meet, is a fisherman’s dream. It boasts the likes of Carp, Bass, Eel, Springer and Barber on a river, which is easily navigated by canoe. Quad biking is only allowed with prior permission from the owner.

The roads are accessible with regular vehicles, while there is a challenging 4X4 route laid out along side the river where 4X4 fans can let off some steam.

The campsite hosts 100 grassed sites with electrical points. The sites are nestled peacefully under giant trees on the lush river banks with convenient ablution block. It is a wonderful family holiday and relaxation spot, which can also be booked for weddings and other special occasions.

The outstanding 300m² conference hall has a video and projection screen, audio, a full on-site industrial kitchen and covered verandah with tables, chairs, built in braai and a river view. We can also support very large groups and can arrange tenting for up to 500 persons.

There is a wash area for doing the dishes and ample parking that is safe and well lit at night.

School groups are welcome and tents with 100 mattresses can be erected on the lawn, under the trees nearby the lovely social lapa and scenic wooden deck jutting out over the water.

Play areas for children are under construction. Walking trails are being planned along the 3 km river banks and through the fynbos, for the nearby future, so you can enjoy the rich bird life and natural beauty to its fullest.
