Blyde River Rafting .  FULL-DAY OOVERNIGHT TRIP:

Location: Starts in the Mariepskop Forestry Reserve, ends where the Blyde River enters the Blydepoort Dam. To guide you in locating the area you may use a sat nav device. Duration: full day (6am to 6pm) or overnight (6am on day 1 to 11:30 am on day 2 Length: 8km whitewater plus 5km motor boat cruise over dam.

Difficulty: Class 3-4  Type: Steep pool-drop, some long, technical  rapids.  Arguably the best river section in South Africa,  Raft the third biggest canyon in the world!  Unspoilt wilderness with spectacular canyon scenery.  Picnic lunch on the river bank and drinks on the motor boat.  The day-trip ends near Swadini where the motor boat comes ashore.  The overnight trip is highly popular because one gets to spend a night at "Wet Camel", our rafters camp in the canyon, where the river enters the Blydepoort Dam.  This is at the foot of the Three RondavelsWet Camel is a rustic bush camp with small A-frame huts, an outdoor kitchen/dining area and a bush shower.  Don't expect five-star luxury here but enjoy the evening meal around the campfire and an early morning hike in the canyon.   The motor boat ride to the end point follows a late breakfast on
day 2.
